International level events / Expos / Fairs in India

NJB's  Participation in 

 Bharat Tex 2024,

at New Delhi during 26th to 29th Feb’2024

 

Inspired by the 5F Vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the largest global textile event in India, Bharat Tex 2024 with a unified Farm to Fashion focus was  organised during the period  26th to 29th February, 2024 in New Delhi.   The 4 day event was inaugurated on 26th February, 2024 by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of  India, at Bharat Mandapam and the inauguration witnessed an overwhelming response not just from Indians, but also global players including top brands and retailers.




The Mega event was organised by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils [EPCs] and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.  The 4 day event attracted besides policymakers and global CEOs, 3,500 Exhibitors, 3,000 Buyers from 111 Countries and over one lakh trade visitors. The exhibition spread across nearly 2 million sq ft of area and encompassing the entire textile value chain, were the highlights of the event. The event was hosted simultaneously at two state of the art venues- Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi with both venues fully subscribed.   National Jute Board (NJB)  participated in this Mega event,  with  Jute  Exporters & JDP units,  for  promoting the Eco-Friendly Bio-Degradable Jute Products among the Indian  Market  and  Foreign Countries.

All major textile organizations and brands from around the world were represented in the event including top level participants from companies including Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Vero Moda, Jack n Jones, Toray, H&M, Target, Kohl’s, K-Mart, IKEA, YKK, Lenzing, Anko, CIEL Group, Busana Group, Brandix Apparels, Teijin Ltd, among others.  All Indian leading players including Reliance, Aditya Birla, Welspun, Trident, Vardhman, Nahar, Indocount, Raymond, SRF Industries, among various other players were represented at the highest levels.

A global scale conference with 70 sessions had discussions on key textile issues of the day including Textile Mega Trends, Sustainability, resilient global supply chains and Manufacturing 4.0. 

Shri.T. Ayyappan, Head-Marketing, NJB,  also visited  the  Jute  Pavilion  and  interacted  with  the  Jute  Participants. 



Over 10,000 artisans, weavers, design and fashion students, factory workers, NGOs and Producer companies visited and participated in the Bharat Tex 2024, as special invitees.  The exhibition at Yashomboomi reflected diverse and intricate artistry. It was open to public received positive response.

NJB's  Participation in   13th Edition of 

 HGH  India Fair,

at Mumbai during 4th to 7th July’23

 

NJB participated in the 13th edition of HGH India Fair, held at  Mumbai, during the period from 4th to 7th July’23.  Fair was inaugurated by Mrs. Rachna Shah, Secretary Textiles, Ministry of Textiles at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai on 4th July'23  in  the  presence of Ms. RoopRashi, Textile Commissioner. Chief Guest and all  the dignitaries visited the Jute Pavilion and appreciated the efforts of NJB, in encouraging the Jute Units.  Shri.T.Ayyappan, Head-Marketing,  Shri.Kishan Singh Ghughtyal, Dy. Director (MP&SI),  New Delhi  and Shri.Debdoot Mukherjee, Asst. Director (MP&SI),  Kolkata,  were  present  during the  occasion.

 India Intl  Handwoven Fair,
at Chennai during 9th to 11th Mar'16

NATIONAL  JUTE  BOARD (Ministry of Textiles,  Govt. of India),  organised participation of  Jute Sector in the  “India  International Handwoven Fair 2016”,  a  B2B  International level event,  meant  for  Foreign  Buyers,   held at  Chennai  Trade  Centre,  Chennai-89 during 9th to 11th Mar’16.  This  Fair  was  organised  by  “Handloom  Export  Promotion  Council”,  Government of India.

  Jute Exporters,  Jute Artisans &  Jute entrepreneurs from various states including  Tamil Nadu,  Kerala and West Bengal  showcased their Jute Fashion products.   The exhibition  featured   the  Jute  Fashion Products, Jute  Trendy  bags,  Jute gift articles  and floor coverings made of jute,  and Jute handicrafts  and  Jute  Made-ups.


Fair  was  inaugurated  by Smt. Reshmi Verma, I.A.S,  Secretary (Textiles), Govt of India, in  the presence of  Shri. Alok  Kumar, IAS,  Development Commissioner(Handlooms)  on  9th  Mar'16.   Shri. Gopal,  Ex.  Chairman,  HEPC, Shri.Venkatesh,  IAS,  MD,  Co-Optex, Shri. Anantraj, DGM, CCIC,   and  many  other  officials were  present  during  the  occasion.  NJB  participated  with  10  participants in  the  IIHF  Fair.

NATIONAL  JUTE  BOARD (Ministry of Textiles,  Govt. of India),  participated  in the  “Coir  Kerala 2016”,  an  International level event,  held at  EMS  Stadium,  Alleppey- 688011.  This  Fair  was  organised  by  “Department of Coir  Development”,  Government of Kerala and Co-ordinated by  NCRMI ( National Coir Research & Management Institute ).
           10 Nos. of  Jute Exporters,  Jute Artisans &  Jute entrepreneurs from various states including  Tamil Nadu,  Kerala and West Bengal  showcased their Jute Fashion products in the  Jute  Stand.   The Jute  stand  featured   the  Jute    Fashion &  Trendy  bags,   Jute  Fashion Jewelry,  jute gift articles  and  floor coverings made of jute,  and Jute Mattings.

COIR  Kerala -  BSM

A buyer-seller meet was held  on  3rd Feb’16, as part of Coir Kerala 2016, expected to generate business deals and export orders worth more than Rs 200 crore.

Apart from private manufacturers, the meet had the participation of government undertakings such as  Foam Mattings India Ltd and Coir Board, as well as a number of cooperatives.  Jute Participants of  Coir  Kerala  were also provided necessary space  for interacting with the Foreign Buyers.

During the five-day event, featured an International exhibition (with 130  stalls) targeting  exports, a national pavilion(with 175 stalls) with products for sale, seminars and workshops led by subject experts from India and abroad throughout the Event period, a buyer-seller meet on 3rd Feb’15, skill competitions for coir workers, daily cultural shows and a direct interaction meet between Shri Adoor Prakash and coir workers on the closing day on  5th Feb’15.

A buyer-seller meet was held  on  3rd Feb’15, as part of Coir Kerala 2015, expected to generate business deals and export orders worth more than Rs 200 crore.
Hon’ble Minister for Industry and IT Shri P K Kunhalikutty,  inaugurated the  BSM programme.   Apart from private manufacturers, the meet had the participation of government undertakings such as  Foam Mattings India Ltd and Coir Board, as well as a number of cooperatives.  Jute Participants of  Coir  Kerala  were also provided necessary space  for interacting with the Foreign Buyers.

 In his presidential address Shri Adoor Prakash said that the buyer-seller meet is the most crucial interaction of the international trade event. The participation of buyers and exhibitors has been increasing every year, indicating the relevance of Kerala coir and coir products in world markets, he said.
